September 2017 marks 90 years since Albuquerque’s famed KiMo Theatre first opened its doors. From its distinctive “Pueblo Deco” architectural style to its Tewa-language name, the theater’s creators had a bold cultural vision that launched a fascinating history. Learn from a panel of experts at this quarter’s Counter-Narrative, a unique lecture series that offers the public an Indigenous perspective on subjects of interest. By engaging with Pueblo partners and Native leaders, the IPCC presents our communities’ stories in our own words and voices.
