When you’ve been in business for nearly 40 years and never had a manufacturer’s defect, you’re doing something right. That’s the distinction Albuquerque area roofing company BAC Enterprises has earned. It’s no wonder they can offer guaranteed lifetime roofing for your home, whether flat or pitched roof.

“‘Do it once, do it right, and do it forever’ is the philosophy we live by at BAC,” says owner Clint Satterfield.

Satterfield is no stranger to running a successful business. Roofing and customer service have been in his family since his father, Bill Satterfield, began working as a roofing contractor more than 40 years ago. In 1983, Bill and Clint decided to combine their expertise and experience by starting Bac Enterprises.

Now Lucas Satterfield, Clint’s son, has started the third generation of the family’s involvement in the business. “I was pretty much raised in this industry,” says Lucas, who is the warehouse and safety manager at BAC.

Lucas says that BAC is unlike any other roofing business in town. “First, there’s no maintenance required on our products, which gives our customers great piece of mind,” he explains. “The other thing that sets us apart is that our guys work with the same product every day, all year, which means they have tons of experience with our inventory. When you switch from doing two to three different types of roofing jobs, it’s easy to forget a step in the process. But when you do the same kind of roofing job every day, you know it inside and out.

Consistency has been one of our major keys to success.” But the road to success didn’t start off smoothly for BAC Enterprises. During the company’s first 10 years in business, they used traditional materials to install area roofs. But under New Mexico’s ever-present sun, notes Clint, roofs that would normally last 30 years in other climates started to deteriorate after a decade due to high ultraviolet rays created by the elevation and dryness of the New Mexico.

As a result, the staff at BAC has become well-versed in roofing for the area’s changing climate. “You don’t want to install just any roof that can’t handle those conditions,” says Clint. “Don’t be fooled by an inferior roof. Our roof is a roof that moves with the climate because it doesn’t crack.”

BAC Enterprises discovered that stone-coated steel for pitched roofs and an IB membrane for flat ones proved to be the best roofing materials for the Land of Enchantment. They carry several lines of the superior stone-coated steel, which homeowners can preview at the company’s showroom, located at 4201 Hawkins Road NE.

“The IB system uses a UV protected membrane that holds up very well under the sun,” says Clint. “Although there are other companies that sell stone-coated steel, BAC is the only installer for the IB Roofing System in New Mexico. Whether you seek a pitched or flat roof, we have you covered.”

Customers can rest easy with the IB flat roof and stone-coated steel panel pitched roofs expertly installed by BAC’s highly trained installers, notes Clint. “These materials never have to be replaced or maintained, meaning, if you buy a roof with BAC, you also get two types of lifetime warranties. The manufacturer provides one for the materials used, and BAC Enterprises gives a contractor’s warranty to cover installation. In our 40 years in business, no one has had to replace once of our IB roofs that were installed incorrectly by other companies.”

Clint says that other roofing materials, such as TPO and foam, are liable to breakdown at any moment. “Foam is just a disaster waiting to happen,” he adds. “We replace TPO and foam roofs on a weekly basis.”

For customers interested in a pitched roof, the stone-coated steel offers customers materials that provide years of maintenance-free protection. “The materials include durable lightweight panels composed of 26-guage galvalume steel, covered with a 100 percent acrylic over-glaze,” says Clint. “The stone-coated steel allows for an enhanced overall, without the extreme weight of tiles, or the maintenance issues associated with painted metal or wood. They surpass the industry’s highest performance tests and come backed by a lifetime limited warranty, covering 120-mile winds and class-4 hailstorms.”

At BAC Enterprises, customer care is paramount in the office and on the job. This attention is evidenced in the high amount of new customers from word-of-mouth recommendations. “We made a name for ourselves by offering the very best product and very best service,” Satterfield says, “we strive to be the best.”

Indeed, customer testimonials sing BAC’s praises. One customer writes, “We cannot express how much we appreciated their courteousness, cleanliness of area around our home and especially their attention to detail.”

BAC Enterprises is licensed bonded insured and their dedicated crews have many years of experience in the New Mexico climate. Additionally, Clint is a stickler for following local building codes and will complete all necessary permitting to ensure your roof is up to standard. “I get permits for everything, and I promise our customers that if I touch it, it will meet code,” he says. “It’s a measure of protection for the homeowner, whether they keep the home for a lifetime or put it on the market, they can rest easy knowing that their home will be represented properly to potential buyers, relieving them of any liabilities in terms of seller’s disclosures.”

BAC is not only invested in customer satisfaction, but they also strive to give back to the community. Their most recent contribution is a Military Appreciation Roof Giveaway during the month of June, open to any active duty member or veteran of the military. They can be nominated by sending a photo and a brief essay describing the their need for a roof. The winner will receive a $15,000 gift certificate to be used towards a roof replacement.
