What is New Mexico MarketPlace™?
New Mexico MarketPlace™ is New Mexico’s oldest and largest monthly shopper publication. In continuous publication each month since 1986, New Mexico MarketPlace (formerly Albuquerque Shopper’s Window™) is distributed free of charge by direct mail to 175,000 recipient single-family households throughout the Albuquerque metro area. Our goal is to bring family-oriented news and useful shopping information to upscale consumers, helping New Mexicans get the best products and services for their money.

What is the history of the publication?
New Mexico MarketPlace was originally published as Albuquerque Shopper’s Window. The first issue was published in November 1986. From an initial circulation of 23,000 copies targeted at Albuquerque’s Northeast Heights, the publication has gradually increased its distribution to 175,000 today. Distribution targets affluent single-family homes throughout the Albuquerque metro area. Communities receiving the publication stretch from Los Lunas in the south up through the city to Rio Rancho, Placitas and Bernalillo in the north; and from Albuquerque’s West Mesa east through the city to the East Mountain communities of Tijeras, Sandia Park, Cedar Crest and Edgewood.

Is New Mexico MarketPlace available for free pickup anywhere in the area?
The short answer to this question is “No.” Other than receiving a copy through the mail, the only other place to pick up a copy of the publication is at our office in Albuquerque.

Where is your office? When is it open?
Our office is located at 4308 Carlisle Blvd. NE, Suite 103 in Albuquerque. This is at the corner of Montgomery and Carlisle in the Carlmont Office Park. Our office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

My friend or relative receives New Mexico MarketPlace, but I don’t. How come?
Distribution of the publication is limited to 175,000 copies each month. Homes that receive New Mexico MarketPlace are selected for mailing on the basis of Median Household Income data compiled by the U.S. Census Bureau and provided to us by the U.S. Postal Service. If you don’t receive a copy, it may be that your neighborhood doesn’t meet the income criteria we use in selecting addresses for mailing. Just because you don’t receive New Mexico MarketPlace now doesn’t mean you may not get it in the future. Our mailing data is updated quarterly in March, June, September and December. At those times, the Postal Service often revises its mailing routes, which may mean your address could potentially be added to our distribution.

Can you mail me a copy?
We will mail a copy to any residence that should’ve received a copy of New Mexico MarketPlace, but did not due to an error by the Postal Service. Unfortunately, because of the expense of first class mailing, we cannot mail any other individual copies. Copies of the publication are available for free pickup at our Albuquerque office.

Can I get a back issue?
We save back issues for four months at our office. You are welcome to come by during business hours to pick one up.

Does it cost anything?
No. If we have it, it’s free.

Where do you get your articles?
Business Profiles are written by local freelance writers. Other monthly features are written by local experts in areas such as gardening, cooking and real estate. We also receive articles from several syndicate services.

Can I write for you?
From time to time, we need freelance writers for our Business Profiles. To be considered, contact Editor Patrick Rodriguez. Other than these, few, if any, unsolicited news articles, essays, or photographs are accepted. However, all are carefully considered, and local emphasis is a must. If return of your submission is desired, a SASE must be provided. Although care will be taken, we assume no responsibility for lost submissions. Send them via snail mail to Patrick Rodriguez, Editor, New Mexico MarketPlace, P.O. Box 92800, Albuquerque, NM 87199, or email patrick@nmmarketplace.com.
